Rental Manager

Overview

Big Sky Resort is hiring a Rental Manager to lead daily operations at the Snowcrest Rentals shop. This role is all about delivering an exceptional rental experience—ensuring guests leave the shop ready to take on the mountain with confidence. You’ll manage a high-performing team, oversee inventory and equipment upkeep, and uphold brand, safety, and guest service standards. We’re looking for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and support rental shop staff on proper equipment fitting, safety protocols, and guest service excellence
• Oversee daily shop operations, ensuring efficiency and professionalism from open to close
• Monitor and maintain the rental fleet in collaboration with the repair team
• Manage risk through proper gear inspection, fitting, and documentation
• Handle shop supply needs, including warranty claims and restocking rental inventory
• Track and manage retail inventory; coordinate with retail and distribution teams for replenishment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready shop environment at all times
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in ski or snowboard rental or retail operations
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with ski tuning and binding mounting is a plus
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while carrying or fitting equipment
• Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, and reach overhead regularly
• Ability to lift, push or pull at least 35 pounds
• Comfortable performing general shop maintenance tasks, including trash removal and cleaning
