Seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (GD&T) with 10 years of experience to support aerospace programs in Phoenix, AZ. This role focuses on engineering drawing validation, ASME Y14.5 compliance, and model-based design review, while collaborating across teams and mentoring junior engineers. Short-term contract with potential for extension or full-time conversion.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will collaborate across Honeywell Aerospace engineering teams to create solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
- You will participate in the product development and production support phases and will be a coach and mentor to less experienced engineers.
- Participate in evolving technical validation group within Engine and Power Systems organization.
- Technical validator of aerospace engineering drawings ensuring full definition and adherence to company and industry standards.
- Review engineering drawings / models for correct usage of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to meet design intent.
- Review engineering designs for proper use of model-based practices and standards.
- Model validation.
- Assess designs for manufacturing and cost.
You Must Have:
- 10 years of experience in mechanical design with experience and deep understanding of Engineering drawings using ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

- Experience and understanding of gas turbine engine components.
- Proven application of ASME drawing standards including ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Deep understanding of engineering drawings interpretation, preparation, and review.
- Experience in Detailed Design phase.
- Experience with Legacy Drawings and specifications.
- Talent to act as a mentor and coach.
- Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience.
- Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.
- Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating and overseeing individuals with experience leading small teams.
