OPERATOR I – St. Paul MN
BEPC is actively looking for Operator I in St. Paul, MN area!
W2 Contract – 12 months with possible extensions!

Pay Rate: $16.50- $18.75 /hour Shift: 6.00am-4.30pm
Overview
The Operator I position is responsible for producing high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Under close supervision, you will perform assembly, repair, and testing of pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. Work is guided by standardized procedures and reviewed continuously to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards. This role requires a minimum 7th grade reading and comprehension level. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine assembly, repair, and test operations in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and management regarding ideas, issues, and solutions.
- Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate protective devices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and production efficiency.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Work with supervisors/managers to set and achieve personal and team performance goals.
- Support divisional initiatives related to Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory standards.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
- Familiarity with electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.
- Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize tasks and manage sequencing effectively.
- Manual dexterity to handle and maneuver small components.
- Sound judgment and ability to make decisions with minimal supervision.
Dress Code & Cleanroom Requirements: Due to the sensitive nature of medical device manufacturing, strict attire and hygiene standards apply:
- Clothing must be non-shedding, clean, and free of frayed hems, loose fibers, glitter, sequins, or similar materials.
- Sweaters, fleece, or loosely knit garments are not permitted.
- Clothing from the waist up must fit under the lab coat/gown without protrusion (no turtlenecks, oversized sleeves, etc.).
- Head coverings for cultural/customary reasons must be tightly woven, laundered, and fully covered by required gowning.
- Shoes must be closed-toe/heel, with a heel no higher than 2 inches. Sandals, clogs, slippers, and woven-toe shoes are not permitted. Socks or stockings are required.
- Skirts must be ankle length with leggings, stockings, or pants worn underneath.
- Jewelry, makeup, nail polish, artificial nails, or scented products (except deodorant) are prohibited. Lip balm in stick form is acceptable if applied outside production areas.
- Open or bleeding wounds must be covered with a bandage.
