Role Overview
BEPC is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager III to support one of our clients within Development Sciences and Translational Medicine. This role is responsible for assessing, drafting, negotiating, and executing a wide range of contracts to enable efficient collaboration with external partners while ensuring full compliance with company policies, laws, and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate brings deep contract negotiation experience, strong stakeholder partnership skills, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, analyze, draft, review, negotiate, and execute contractual agreements in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Negotiate optimal contract terms while balancing risk exposure and business objectives
- Exercise sound judgment and decision-making authority during negotiations with minimal reliance on legal counsel
- Advise and influence stakeholders and functional leadership on contractual, legal, and business terms
- Partner with internal teams to identify future needs and implement process improvements (e.g., templates, playbooks, delegation of authority)
- Manage vendor and client relationships throughout the contract lifecycle
- Track contract execution, lifecycle milestones, and renewals
- Maintain accurate records of executed contracts and respond to audit requests
- Act as a subject matter resource and may train or mentor other contract professionals
- Lead or support special projects and process improvement initiatives
- Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders highlighting contract purpose, process, risks, and key considerations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications Required:
- 10 years of experience in contract management, legal operations, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Strong contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to build effective internal and external partnerships
Preferred:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Contract management certification (e.g., IACCM/WorldCC, NCMA)
- Experience supporting scientific, research, or regulated organizations
