Job Title: Bookkeeper / Accountant
Reports to: President
Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application, and general ledger support. The role ensures accurate financial records and assists with monthly close and reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process customer payments and accurately apply cash to open invoices
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing or payment discrepancies
- Record daily bank deposits and assist with cash tracking
- Assist with customer billing, statements, and collection of past-due accounts
- Enter and process vendor invoices in the accounting system
- Help reconcile vendor statements and support vendor payment processing
- Assist with preparing and processing payments (checks and electronic transfers)
- Support basic bank reconciliations for cash accounts
- Assist with monthly sales tax preparation and filing support
- Help with month-end close activities and financial reporting
- Maintain organized financial records, including W-9 documentation
- Track and process 401(k) contribution data, including deferrals and loan repayments
Requirements:
- Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, accounts payable, or accounts receivable preferred
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (AP, AR, general ledger)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems (Macola, Synergy, or similar a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
