Duties

• Defend employers in employment litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, wrongful termination, and related workplace claims.

• Represent employers before state and federal courts, arbitration panels, and administrative agencies.

• Manage all phases of employment litigation from initial case assessment through trial, settlement, or appeal.

• Develop litigation strategies and oversee complex employment disputes.

• Handle mediations involving employment matters, including class actions, collective actions, and representative actions.

• Provide day-to-day counseling on employment law compliance and workplace best practices.

• Advise employers regarding federal, state, and local labor and employment regulations.

• Conduct management training programs on employment law compliance and risk prevention.

• Supervise associates, paralegals, and litigation support professionals.

• Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, settlement agreements, and employment-related legal documents.

• Collaborate directly with clients to develop practical business-oriented legal solutions.

• Maintain strong client relationships while managing multiple sophisticated employment matters.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.

• Minimum of 9 years of employer-side employment litigation experience.

• Active California Bar admission in good standing.

• Significant first-chair litigation and case management experience.

• Experience supervising attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff.

• Thorough understanding of state and federal employment laws and administrative agency procedures.

• Experience handling employment mediations and complex litigation.

• Class Action and PAGA litigation experience preferred but not required.

• Excellent analytical, advocacy, and client relationship skills.
