Duties
• Advise law enforcement agencies on constitutional policing, use of force, liability exposure, and risk management issues.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to public agencies regarding code enforcement and regulatory compliance matters.
• Represent public safety agencies during administrative hearings, disciplinary proceedings, and officer appeals.
• Assist agencies with internal investigations involving personnel matters and workplace misconduct.
• Conduct legal analysis involving constitutional law, civil rights, and governmental liability.
• Draft agency policies, procedures, operational guidelines, and law enforcement training materials.
• Prepare legal opinions, memoranda, reports, and advisory documents for agency executives and governing bodies.
• Attend and present legal recommendations during city council, commission, and board meetings.
• Collaborate with attorneys across labor and employment, litigation, municipal law, and regulatory practice groups.
• Provide proactive legal guidance to minimize legal exposure and operational risks.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and prepare persuasive legal memoranda.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with public officials, agency leadership, and municipal clients.
• Support public agencies in developing legally compliant operational strategies.

Requirements
• 3–6 years of relevant legal experience.
• Significant experience advising law enforcement agencies or public entities.
• Strong knowledge of constitutional law and civil rights litigation.
• Experience handling administrative proceedings and public agency matters.

• Ability to independently manage complex legal matters.
