Seeking an Project Engineer to support New Product Introduction (NPI), New Product Development (NPD), and sustaining production operations for complex electro-mechanical products and systems.
Key Responsibilities
***New Product Introduction (NPI) & Development***
- Serve as the operations project lead representing: Manufacturing, Procurement, Planning, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering
- Lead manufacturing engineering activities for new product development programs
- Partner with R&D teams to translate designs into scalable manufacturing processes
- Provide DFM/DFA feedback during prototype and early production builds
- Lead implementation and transfer of engineering changes into manufacturing
- Develop and maintain: Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, Manufacturing Line Layouts
- Support IQ/OQ/PQ validations and verification activities for new products, fixtures, and processes
- Design and develop assembly and test fixtures for electro-mechanical products
- Interface with suppliers to support successful product launches and manufacturing readiness
- Coordinate manufacturing training and implementation activities
- Support process transfers between internal sites and contract manufacturers as needed
- Travel up to 20% as required
Sustaining Manufacturing Support
- Troubleshoot issues related to: Mechanical components, Cable harnesses, PCBAs, Motors Electro-mechanical assemblies
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing issues
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on: Efficiency, Product quality, Cost reduction, Lean Manufacturing principles
- Facilitate Lean Kaizen activities and manufacturing process improvements
- Maintain manufacturing documentation and KPI tracking for assigned product lines
- Collaborate closely with production, procurement, planning, logistics, and quality teams
- Support supplier quality issue resolution and field performance investigations
- Monitor product quality trends and implement corrective actions when needed
- Ensure compliance with quality systems, procedures, and manufacturing standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
- 8 years of manufacturing engineering experience in an industrial or electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of: NPI/NPD processes, Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis, Process Validation, Electro-mechanical assembly
- Experience developing: PFMEA, Process Flows, Control Plans, Manufacturing Documentation
- Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical assemblies and manufacturing processes
- Experience with CAD software and plant/process layout tools required
- Strong understanding of product costing and cost reduction initiatives
- Intermediate to advanced skills with: Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Database/Access tools
- Experience designing tooling, fixtures, and assembly/test processes preferred
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Salary : $85,000 - $120,000
