Material HandlerPosition Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for supporting warehouse and production operations by receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing materials, components, and supplies. This role ensures inventory accuracy, timely replenishment of production materials, and efficient movement of products throughout the facility. The Material Handler may also assist with general production activities as needed to support operational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and follow Packaging Process Specifications (PPS), including packaging instructions, material handling procedures, and inventory control requirements.
- Receive, inspect, and accurately store materials, components, and supplies in designated warehouse locations.
- Update inventory transactions and material movements within the company’s inventory management system.
- Pick, stage, and kit materials for production orders to ensure timely manufacturing operations.
- Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and physical inventory counts as scheduled or assigned.
- Assist with receiving and verification of incoming shipments.
- Count and verify materials returned from production and accurately restock inventory.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment, to move, load, unload, and store products safely.
- Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and inventory accuracy.
- Support production operations and perform general production duties when required.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Complete additional projects and tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a warehouse, material handling, inventory control, or related environment.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience operating pallet jacks required; forklift experience preferred. Forklift certification is a plus, and training may be provided.
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible schedules and overtime as needed.
- Basic math skills and the ability to accurately count and verify inventory.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds independently; heavier items may require assistance.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety shoes with toe protection and slip-resistant soles.
- Ability to work safely in a warehouse and production environment.
Pay: $22.00 per hour
