Facilities Helper – PRN up to 20 hours per week – Cortez and Dove Creek Integrated Healthcare - Cortez/Dove Creek, CO 

Axis is seeking a seasonal worker who is looking for an exciting summer opportunity!

Position Summary: The Facilities Helper provides general building repairs and property maintenance including, but not limited to, cleaning, painting, exterior building and grounds maintenance. Provide preventative maintenance and safe operation to all Axis Health System facilities.

Qualifications: Our ideal candidate for our Facilities Helper will have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Education and prior experience aren't requirement. 

Salary: Starting pay is $15.16 per hour which includes preferred education and certifications

Working Conditions/Physical Demands (Applicable to all Axis Employees)

• Employees must occasionally lift and/or move 15 to 50 pounds.  Employees are frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop.  Must have ability to sit for long periods of time at computer.
• Employees must be able to travel between Axis locations. Depending on the position, employee may also be expected to engage in occasional statewide and domestic travel. 
• Working in a healthcare organization lends itself to the possibility of exposure to communicable disease.
• Noise level in the working environment is usually moderate.
• Annual Flu immunization by November 1, annual TB Screening, complete de-escalation training, and BLS certification, as required for position.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Janitorial & Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness in common areas, public restrooms, and entryways by sweeping, mopping, dusting, and removing trash.
• Grounds Maintenance: Keep the exterior tidy, which can include landscaping, weeding, mowing, sweeping parking lot.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Enjoy performing physical work indoors and outdoors in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions.
• Ensure the property and facilities are kept safe, clean and in good operating condition by performing general maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, grounds and equipment as required.
• Must be comfortable using a variety of tools and equipment.
• Ability to complete routine repairs with little or no supervision
• Ability to operate equipment necessary to make minor repairs
• Ability to operate a computer keyboard
