Vocational Specialist – Full Time – Durango Integrated Healthcare - Durango, CO
Position Summary: The role of the Vocational Specialist is to assist patients at Axis Health System to establish meaningful work activities. The Vocational Specialist works with both individuals and employers to identify employment matches. The Vocational Specialist collaborates with members of the treatment team to assist patients in meeting their treatment goals and obtain and maintain competitive employment.
Qualifications: Our ideal candidate for our Vocational Specialist position will have a bachelor’s degree and previous experience in a behavioral health or educational setting. Two years’ experience with education/career advising or career counseling and/or Individualized Placement and Support Certification are preferred.
Salary:
Starting pay is $20.50 - $21.58, per hour (which includes a $2.50 locale differential at our Durango worksites) and considers preferred experience and preferred education described above.

Physical demands: Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand, or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between AXIS HEALTH SYSTEM locations. Possible potential exposure to communicable disease. Required Skills:
- Knowledge and ability to operate standard office equipment including scanner, computer, calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.
- Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and ability to access the internet.

Additional eligibility requirements: Annual Flu immunization, Annual TB screening, de-escalation training within 90 days of hire, BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
