PAY RANGE: $80,000 - 110,000
Averro is hiring a hands-on Welding Engineer to support and elevate one of our machinery manufacturing clients and their weld operations. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants real ownership, floor exposure, and the ability to directly impact production quality and efficiency.
You’ll ensure compliance with AWS welding standards while validating both internal and external welded components. This role also involves designing, programming, and implementing automated welding systems, guiding non-standard weld rework per AWS requirements, and driving adoption of new technologies to improve quality and reduce costs.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to develop and deploy Procedure Qualification Records (PQR’s) and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Partner with weld technicians on the floor to troubleshoot and resolve weld issues (primarily manual GMAW)
- Audit and ensure compliance with existing WPS standards
- Review and implement engineering change orders (ECOs)
- Provide design feedback to improve weldability and manufacturability
- Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions
- Collaborate with tooling and welding teams to optimize manual weld cells for consistency and repeatability
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 0–4 years of welding engineering experience (or a welding-focused engineering degree)
- CWI preferred
- MIG welding experience
- Hands-on mindset with comfort working in a production environment
- Experience with A36 mild steel (aluminum is a plus)
- Strong critical thinking—ability to catch design issues before they hit the floor
- Self-starter who thrives with autonomy and ownership
