The responsibilities of the Principal Welding Engineer role are:
• Lead the development and execution of long range welding technology and automation strategies across global sites
• Evaluate and implement new welding technologies in collaboration with external suppliers and internal teams
• Drive alignment between engineering and manufacturing to improve processes, materials and technical capability
• Support capacity planning to ensure welding processes meet production demand and customer requirements
• Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and structured problem solving
The skills/experience required for the Principal Welding Engineer role are:
• Degree in Engineering or an equivalent discipline with 10 years of experience
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector accreditation
• Strong background in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement
• Proven experience managing large, CAPEX intensive projects
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
