Job Summary
The Field Operator I supports the delivery, installation, and operation of pumping systems and related equipment at service centers and customer job sites. This role involves hands-on work with heavy equipment, HDPE pipe fusion, and system setup, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery, setup, and removal of pump systems and pipelines at job sites
- Load, unload, and secure equipment using proper load securement techniques (chains, straps)
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, telehandlers, skid steers, and loaders
- Perform HDPE pipe fusion (2”–48”) and pipeline installation
- Read and interpret blueprints and layout designs for system setup
- Conduct visual inspections of equipment and document condition
- Complete job safety assessments and follow all safety protocols (PPE, FMCSA/DOT compliance)
- Install, test, and troubleshoot pumping systems and pipelines
- Perform vacuum checks and ensure systems meet operational requirements
- Safely dismantle systems, flush pipelines, and prevent contamination or spills
- Use hand tools (including chainsaws) to cut and break down pipelines
- Prepare and manage documentation including work orders and bills of lading (BOLs)
- Coordinate with customers, sales teams, and internal staff on job requirements and updates
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments
- Travel locally to support field operations and respond to customer needs
Required Qualifications
Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in construction, field operations, or related industry
- Experience with heavy equipment operation preferred
- Experience with HDPE pipe fusion strongly preferred
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
Technical Skills:
- Ability to operate heavy industrial equipment (forklifts, loaders, telehandlers, etc.)
- Knowledge of load securement and flatbed trailer operations
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
- Basic computer skills
- Mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting ability
Licenses:
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record required
- CDL preferred (not required)
