Job Summary
The Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of inpatient admitting and surgical registration functions. This role provides leadership across front-end revenue cycle activities, ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate registration, and high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise inpatient admitting and surgical registration teams
- Manage day-to-day front-end revenue cycle operations, including:
- Patient registration and appointment scheduling
- Insurance verification and authorizations
- Front-end cash collections
- Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure optimal patient flow and productivity
- Monitor and ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance of registration processes
- Enforce hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care
- Identify and resolve operational issues impacting patient access and throughput
- Lead team functions including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal protocols
- Support continuous improvement in patient experience and operational efficiency
Required Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience (healthcare setting preferred)
Education:
- High School Diploma required
Skills & Systems:
- Experience with EPIC preferred
- Strong knowledge of patient access workflows and front-end revenue cycle
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Additional Requirements
- Must be flexible to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Willingness to be on-call 1–2 times per week
