Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Grounds Maintenance/F??acilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain athletic fields, lawns, landscaped areas, and campus facilities. This position will be responsible for operating commercial grounds equipment, performing routine landscaping and grounds maintenance, and assisting with basic building maintenance and repairs. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, prioritizing tasks, operating hand and power tools safely, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay rate is $18.

Work Schedule: 7:00 a.m.- 3:30 pm

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain athletic fields, lawns, landscaping, and other outdoor areas to ensure they remain clean, safe, and well-maintained.
• Operate commercial grounds equipment, including zero-turn mowers, string trimmers, edgers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
• Perform routine mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and general grounds maintenance.
• Assist with basic building maintenance and repairs, including painting and minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance, such as changing light bulbs, ballasts, and fixtures.
• Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving furniture, equipment, and other materials.
• Operate pressure washers and perform general cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools.
• Travel regularly between the Franklin and Suffolk campuses as needed.
• Work independently while effectively prioritizing daily tasks and responsibilities.
• Lift, carry, and move equipment and materials weighing 50 lbs.
• Work safely outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  
  

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, facilities maintenance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience operating commercial landscaping and grounds equipment.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
• Ability to travel between multiple campus locations.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting 50 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
