We are currently recruiting for an Associate Pension Analyst. This full-time position pays $26/ hour and is located in Chicago, IL.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Review incoming refund applications and required documentation.
- Terminate members in the system when a death is reported.
- Calculate benefits and process pension benefits and refunds in a timely manner.
- Conduct peer review of documentation and Eligibility and Control Reports.
- Review disability applications and related documentation.
- Perform beneficiary research and mail death benefit applications.
- Audit all returned documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Communicate with members and beneficiaries to obtain required documentation.
- Evaluate implications of legal documents such as trusts, estates, and Powers of Attorney (POA) in the processing of benefits.
- Adhere to plan provisions, policies, and procedures in workload management and benefits processing.
- Reprint member statements upon request.
- Assist department management and team on various projects as required.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills (3 years).
- Excellent time management skills (3 years).
- Strong ability to perform effective research (3 years).
- Excellent attention to detail (3 years).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate across multiple departments.
- Customer service focused.
- Bachelor’s Degree required, with additional coursework or seminars related to benefits administration preferred.
- Previous pension benefits experience preferred.
- Lifting and moving up to five pounds occasionally.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Regular work hours Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; however, occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.
- Some travel may be required.
