Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments utilizing DSM-5 criteria and ICD coding to evaluate clients’ mental health and substance use disorders.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Develop tailored treatment plans that incorporate addiction counseling, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and case management strategies.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Provide crisis management during acute episodes, including de-escalation techniques and emergency response coordination.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including hospital staff, social workers, and community service providers.
- Engage in ongoing research and data collection to monitor treatment outcomes and improve clinical practices related to addiction medicine and behavioral health.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor or equivalent credential with active certification.
- Proven experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, PTSD care, and mental health counseling.
- Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic evaluation, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical terminology relevant to behavioral health.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation standards, EMR/EHR management, and medical records maintenance.
- Skilled in intake procedures, client assessment in therapy settings, crisis intervention, and case management.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction, client assessment in therapy sessions, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
- Experience working within hospital or home & community care environments is preferred.

Pay: $33.00 - $45.00 per hour
