Role Overview
THIS IS A FULL-TIME ON SITE POSITION ONLY!!!
- Position Type: Associate-level addictions counseling role.
- Primary Goal: Deliver evidence-based interventions and support client recovery while working toward advanced licensure (such as LGADC or LCADC).
- Supervision: Must operate under a Board-approved clinical supervisor in compliance with Maryland regulations. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct individual diagnostic and assessment interviews.
- Formulate and implement basic addiction treatment plans.
- Facilitate early-stage substance abuse treatment and support groups.
- Provide ongoing case management, accurate record-keeping, and electronic documentation.
- Coordinate client care with community mental health and recovery resources. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Associate’s degree in a human services or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Coursework: Specific Maryland-approved credit hours in alcohol and drug (AODA) counseling, including addiction ethics.
- Certifications & Exams: Valid CSC-AD certificate issued by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists, requiring a passing score on the National Certified Addiction Counselor Level I (NCAC I) exam and the Maryland Law Assessment.
- Knowledge & Skills: Familiarity with DSM-5 criteria, ASAM diagnostic assessments, and basic computer software. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
