Senior Plant Accountant
Location: Hastings, NE (on-site, manufacturing environment)
Compensation: 85k – 110k
About the Opportunity:
A national food manufacturing leader is seeking a Senior Plant Accountant to strengthen its plant-level financial operations and support strategic decision-making. This role plays a key part in maintaining the accuracy of inventory records, analyzing plant costs, and supporting operational efficiency across departments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile inventory to the general ledger and ensure accuracy of plant inventory records.
- Prepare inventory and costing reports, including stock analysis, cycle count accuracy, and excess/obsolete inventory tracking.
- Monitor and analyze Repairs & Maintenance (R&M) spend, identifying cost drivers and opportunities for process improvement.
- Coordinate capital expenditure documentation and approvals in line with company policies.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies; work cross-functionally with operations and corporate accounting to implement corrective actions.
- Support process improvement initiatives related to inventory controls and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with ERP or inventory management system updates and conversions.
- Prepare reconciliations and assist with audit and compliance deliverables.
- Contribute to the monthly financial close process and collaborate closely with the corporate accounting team.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or inventory-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups).
- Strong understanding of reconciliations, accruals, and cost accounting concepts.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
- Exposure to plant-level accounting, costing, or inventory management in a manufacturing setting.
