Senior Plant Accountant

About the Role
We’re seeking a Senior Plant Accountant to play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of inventory and costing records. This position will support the monthly financial close process, prepare detailed inventory and cost reports, and collaborate closely with operations and corporate teams to analyze trends, resolve discrepancies, and strengthen internal controls.

What You’ll Do
- Monitor and analyze current stock levels, identifying discrepancies and inventory trends.
- Prepare key inventory reports, including aging, turnover, cycle count accuracy, and excess/obsolete stock analyses.
- Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and related reconciliation activities.
- Investigate inventory variances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Evaluate and enhance inventory control processes, including documentation and SOPs.
- Prepare and analyze repairs and maintenance (R&M) spend reports.
- Coordinate capital expenditure documentation and approval processes.
- Support ERP or inventory management system updates and data accuracy initiatives.
- Prepare reconciliations related to inventory and cost accounting.
- Contribute to the monthly financial close process and assist with audit deliverables.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in finance, with a focus on inventory and costing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups required).
- Strong accounting fundamentals, including reconciliations and accruals.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments.
Bonus Points
- Experience working with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
