What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Specialist position at Ascendo Resources?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Specialist to support the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. This role will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting month-end and reporting activities. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment preparation, and collections support
- Enter and maintain accurate financial data in the accounting system
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and schedules
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation in compliance with company policies
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to accounting transactions
- Assist with audits, reporting, and special projects as needed
- Perform general administrative duties to support the accounting team
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance support role preferred
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
