JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinical Supervisor for Therapists is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations and staff at an outpatient addiction treatment facility, specifically managing therapists delivering group and individual psychotherapy. This role involves providing clinical supervision, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based treatment, and fostering the professional development of the clinical team. This position is highly client-facing and involves extensive client interactions. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills to support both staff and clients in achieving successful treatment outcomes.

DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • New Client Intake & Orientation Oversight: Oversee the intake process for new clients, ensuring that they receive a comprehensive orientation to the facility, treatment programs, and their treatment team including introducing themselves to all clients on their first day, conducting casual check-ins within the first 24 hours of admission.
  • Supervision & Leadership: Provide direct supervision, guidance, and support to a team of licensed therapists & chemical dependency counseling assistants (CDCAs) providing treatment to clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. This includes regular individual and group supervision sessions, case consultations, and performance evaluations.
  • Clinical Oversight: Ensure that all therapy provided by the clinical team follows evidence-based practices and meets the standards set by the clinic and regulatory agencies. Monitor client progress and outcomes in PHP, IOP, and group therapy settings.
  • Clinical Support: Provide clinical support and guidance on challenging cases, including crisis intervention, high-risk behaviors, and dual diagnosis cases. Act as a resource for staff in complex treatment situations.
  • Leadership rounding: Complete consistent but unpredictable rounding throughout the day to ensure productivity, monitor the treatment milieu and address any client or staff issues.
  • Direct Clinical Care: Provide direct client care as needed, especially in staffing deficiencies and complex cases.
  • Training & Development: Facilitate ongoing training and professional development for therapy staff, promoting growth in clinical competencies, addiction treatment, and trauma-informed care.
  • Treatment Planning: Collaborate with therapists in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans, ensuring appropriate interventions and goals tailored to clients' needs.
  • Program Coordination: Work closely with other clinical and administrative staff to maintain smooth operations ensuring programs are well-structured and consistently meet quality standards.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with all relevant state, federal, and accrediting body regulations. Oversee documentation practices, ensuring all clinical and billing records are accurate, complete, and timely. Conduct regular audits and reviews of clinical processes and documentation
  • Quality Improvement: Contribute to program evaluation, quality improvement initiatives, and data collection efforts to enhance the clinic's services and client outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Foster positive working relationships with other healthcare providers, administrative teams, and external partners, such as referral sources and community resources.
  • Client Complaint Management: Act as a point of contact for clients and their families in addressing concerns, complaints, and service issues. Manage customer complaints in a professional and timely manner, ensuring service recovery processes are followed to restore client satisfaction and maintain positive relationships.


ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Ability to understand, speak, read and write English
  • Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence in English
  • Effectively speak before groups and assist with co-facilitation of groups
  • Work all the hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (e.g., weekends, evenings and holidays as needed)
  • Travel as required, travel with clients may be required as needed
  • Provide coverage for other positions as requested
  • Ability to be able to walk up and down stairs regularly throughout the workday as part of client care activities
  • Ability to carry/lift boxes weighing between 10 and 25 pounds.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
  • Responsible for maintaining credentials or licensure requirements, if applicable


COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Armada Recovery employees are required to comply all state and federal regulatory and legal requirements. Additionally, all staff members must comply with the Armada Recovery Employee Handbook, any Code of Ethics and all other Armada Recovery policies. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in clinical documentation and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Ability to handle crisis situations effectively.


QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Current licensure in the state of Ohio. LISW, LPCC, or equivalent (LISW-S, LPCC-S preferred).

PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of 2 years of clinical supervisory experience in an outpatient addiction treatment setting, ideally with experience in PHP and IOP.

SKILLS: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. An ability to provide constructive feedback and maintain a supportive and professional working environment.
