Job Summary:
Armada Recovery is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our clinical department, you will work collaboratively with therapists to provide support, guidance, and therapeutic services to individuals in group and individual settings.
Responsibilities:
- Co-facilitate group counseling sessions to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for clients
- Assist in the facilitation of group counseling sessions, applying evidence-based therapeutic methods
- Provide individual counseling services, under the direction of a therapist, and document client progress
- Collaborate with the treatment team to create individualized treatment plans and goals for clients
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as necessary
- Maintain accurate records and progress notes in compliance with agency policies and regulations
- Participate in staff meetings, case reviews, and clinical consultations to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery
- Maintain office supplies inventory and perform administrative tasks as needed
- Prepare routine reports and correspondence in English
- Speak before groups of customers or employees
- Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities
- Carry/lift boxes weighing between 10 and 25 pounds
- Ascend and descend stairs regularly as part of daily job duties
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of CDCA or higher
- At least 1-2 years of experience working in a therapeutic or support role with individuals experiencing substance use disorders
- Experience in group facilitation or counseling is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to co-facilitate group discussions in a non-judgmental and supportive manner
- Understanding of evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities for substance use disorder treatment
- Ability to complete clinical documentation in an electronic medical record
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Crisis management and de-escalation skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Word (or similar word processing program) at an expert level
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel (or similar spreadsheet program) at an expert level
- Ability to use Microsoft PowerPoint (or similar word processing program) at an intermediate level
- Ability to use KIPU EHR software at an intermediate level
