JOB SUMMARY:
The Resident Technician is responsible for assuring the integrity of the therapeutic milieu and navigating patients through the scheduled day of events. The Resident Technician assists each department with meeting patient needs and providing support throughout the facility.

DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1) Support Therapeutic Milieu
- Assist the clinical team in managing the unit through effective communication, including receiving and reporting pertinent patient information with the clinical team regularly.
- Coordinate and facilitate patient activities.
- Offer empathetic listening and help patients express thoughts, feelings, and experiences related to substance use and recovery.
2) Patient Navigation and Support
- Provide orientation for new patients, including facility tour and introductions with clinical and nursing team members.
- Navigate patients throughout the scheduled day of events.
- Monitor patient movement and provide re-direction as needed.
- Encourage patients to attend groups and other scheduled activities.
- Meet individual patient needs, as requested.
3) Patient Safety
- Assist with room, vehicle, belongings, and/or person searches as directed.
- Complete the required documentation to assist with tracking belongings placed in lockup at the facility.
- Collect urine samples and complete documentation for drug screening, as needed.
4) Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with clinical and medical providers to deliver comprehensive treatment.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all legal and ethical standards related to client care and documentation.
- Participate in staff meetings, as requested, to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery.
5) Crisis Intervention:
- Assist in identifying and addressing potential crises or emotional distress.
- Implement de-escalation techniques and provide immediate support as needed.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Ability to understand, speak, read, write in English.
- Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence in English.
- Effectively speak before groups of customers or employees.
- Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed).
- Ability to carry/lift boxes weighing between 10 and 25 pounds.
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs regularly as part of daily job duties.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Armada Recovery employees are required to comply all state and federal regulatory and legal requirements. Additionally, all staff members must comply with the Armada Recovery Employee Handbook, any Code of Ethics and all other Armada Recovery policies.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- None
PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- At least 1-2 years of experience working in a therapeutic or support role with individuals experiencing substance use disorders.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to co-facilitate group discussions in a non-judgmental and supportive manner.
- Understanding of evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities for substance use disorder treatment.
- Ability to complete clinical documentation in an electronic medical record.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Crisis management and de-escalation skills.
