Responsibilities
- Promote the company’s safety culture
- Participate in daily huddles and safety meetings
- Safely use, maintain, and store all tools and material used in the course of work
- Skilled Laborers continuously train with higher-level laborers to learn the required techniques for promotion
- Assist mechanical crews with the installation of threaded piping. Tasks include but are not limited to; retrieving material, installing pipe supports, obtaining field measurements and cutting and threading of pipe
- Assist civil crews with carpentry activities related to concrete.
- Assist welding crew with piping activities. Tasks include but are not limited to: retrieving material, handling of pipe, installing structural supports.
- Assist pipe coating activities. Tasks include but are not limited to; abrasive blasting, coating application and holiday detecting
- Perform flange make-up activities. Tasks include but are not limited to; retrieving appropriate materials bolts & gaskets, preparing the flange faces and torquing the flanges
- Skill in reading blueprints and project plans is required
- Continuously learning about new techniques/equipment in order to operate safely while maintaining productivity
- Ability to identify tasks and complete to customer’s given specifications
- Ability to work independently and with other crews.
- May be required to travel to different job sites, working on various construction projects while transferring from one task to another. This may require workers with various experiences and abilities to work with or without close supervision with limited notice
- All other duties as assigned by the site superintendent
- Other duties as assigned, to include general labor duties
Qualifications
- General knowledge of construction activities
- Mathematic ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Willingness and desire to learn natural gas construction
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- This position is subjected to the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.)
Work Environment
- Industrial construction sites, oil and gas facilities, compressor stations, pipelines, utility projects, and manufacturing facilities.
- Exposure to heavy equipment, moving machinery, noise, dust, vibration, and changing weather conditions.
- Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility, teamwork, and adaptability.
- Overtime, weekends, night shifts, and extended work schedules may be required.
- Frequent out-of-town work and travel are required. Employees should expect assignments at various project locations and may be required to stay overnight or work away from home for extended periods depending on project needs.
