Superintendent

The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and directing all field construction activities on oil and gas projects, including pipelines, compressor stations, well pads, processing facilities, meter stations, and related infrastructure. The Superintendent ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and client expectations.

This position provides leadership for field personnel, subcontractors, and equipment resources while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily field operations for assigned construction projects.
• Lead and supervise foremen, craft workers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
• Plan, coordinate, and schedule manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities.
• Ensure work is performed in compliance with project drawings, specifications, permits, and client requirements.
• Conduct daily planning meetings, safety briefings, and coordination meetings.
• Monitor project schedules and implement corrective actions to maintain production goals.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and work packages.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering teams, inspectors, and client representatives.
• Oversee site logistics, equipment utilization, and workforce productivity.
• Monitor project costs and assist in controlling labor, equipment, and material expenditures.
• Implement and enforce company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and client safety requirements.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project standards.
• Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, delays, and construction challenges.
• Maintain daily reports, production records, manpower reports, and project documentation.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and turnover activities.
• Ensure environmental compliance and proper implementation of environmental protection measures
• Participate in client meetings and provide progress updates.
• Support project startup, commissioning, and closeout activities as required.
• Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example.
• Ensure all personnel comply with OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements.
• Conduct and document Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), toolbox talks, and site safety meetings.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
• Stop work when unsafe conditions or practices are identified.
• Ensure all personnel are properly trained and qualified for assigned duties.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of construction experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience managing industrial, heavy civil, pipeline, or oil and gas construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, materials, and field operations.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with construction reporting and project documentation.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with compressor stations, meter stations, processing plants, gathering systems, or pipeline construction.
• OSHA 30 Certification.
• First Aid/CPR Certification.
• NCCER Superintendent Certification or applicable industry certifications.

Work Environment

• Industrial construction sites, oil and gas facilities, compressor stations, pipelines, utility projects, and manufacturing facilities.
• Exposure to heavy equipment, moving machinery, noise, dust, vibration, and changing weather conditions.
• Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility, teamwork, and adaptability.
• Overtime, weekends, night shifts, and extended work schedules may be required.
• Frequent out-of-town work and travel are required. Employees should expect assignments at various project locations and may be required to stay overnight or work away from home for extended periods depending on project needs.
