We are partnering with a well-established construction products and services organization to hire a Business Development Associate focused on new business growth within the commercial construction market. This role is ideal for a relationship-driven sales professional with strong ties to General Contractors and a solid understanding of the construction lifecycle.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: base of $70-100k (dependent on experience) commission
Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and 401(k)
Location: Onsite role based in Sanford, FL, covering a territory; company vehicle provided
Key Responsibilities
Drive new business growth and expand market share within an assigned territory
Prospect, identify, and qualify new opportunities across commercial construction markets
Build and maintain strong relationships with General Contractors, as well as architects, structural engineers, and building shell contractors
Promote product specifications, advocacy, and long-term partnerships
Manage accounts, opportunities, and project lifecycles using CRM tools (Salesforce)
Maintain a proactive prospecting schedule, including calls, meetings, and site visits
Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations
Analyze market trends and develop strategies to capitalize on new opportunities
Obtain and review construction plans and specifications to qualify projects
Serve as the external point of contact for assigned projects, collaborating closely with internal teams throughout the project lifecycle
Represent the organization through involvement in relevant trade associations and industry events
Learn and effectively promote a full portfolio of construction products and services
Contribute as a collaborative, professional team member
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
3 years of experience in the construction industry preferred; particularly Precast, Hardscape or Concrete
Existing Relationships with General Contractors in the Hotel, Hospital, Multifamily and Commercial construction industry and within the job geography.
Strong sales aptitude with proven relationship-building skills
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and related documents
Excellent communication, presentation, and time-management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and CRM systems (Salesforce)
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and ability to travel within the territory
