Position Overview:
We are seeking a Global Project Manager – Personalized Healthcare Solutions to support Companion Diagnostics (CDx) product development and product care initiatives. As part of the Project Management Chapter, this role is responsible for leading project management activities across the full project lifecycle—from concept through completion—ensuring optimized delivery of innovative healthcare solutions.
The Global Project Manager will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to cross-functional teams, driving project planning, execution, governance, and performance tracking while enabling efficient collaboration across global teams and functions.
Important: Only candidates currently residing in the Tucson, AZ area will be considered. Relocation assistance is not available.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject & Program Management
- Lead project/program structures for Companion Diagnostics (CDx) product development and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Drive projects from concept to completion by developing detailed work plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and status reports.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans including timelines, dependencies, resource allocation, and budgets.
Planning & Execution
- Proactively manage project plans ensuring alignment across teams and functions.
- Conduct critical path analysis, scenario planning, and risk management to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Execute project governance processes including preparation for milestone reviews and capacity reviews (cQCR, SCR, fQCR).
Agile & Hybrid Project Methodology
- Select and implement appropriate project management methodologies including Agile and hybrid approaches.
- Coach and guide teams on Agile practices where applicable.
- Serve as an Agile Program Manager under the SAFe framework when required.
Performance & Metrics
- Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), OKRs, and other project metrics.
- Provide planning data to support portfolio-level decision making and scenario analysis.
Stakeholder & Communication Management
- Act as the single point of contact for project data and communication across functions.
- Lead project team meetings and facilitate collaboration between project teams and sub-chapters.
- Provide proactive updates and escalation of project risks, issues, and changes.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify project risks and evaluate potential impacts on budget, timeline, and scope.
- Address bottlenecks, challenge assumptions, and recommend mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Life Sciences or related field).
- 4 years of project management, engineering, or business experience within the diagnostic, medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech industry.
- Experience leading product development or product care projects.
- At least 1 year of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Clinical biomarker development
- In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) development
- Companion diagnostics (CDx)
- Analytical or clinical validations
- Regulatory submissions
- Instrument or systems development
- Program management
- 1 year experience in a regulated environment such as:
- FDA 21 CFR Part 820
- ISO 13485
- ISO 9001
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Life Sciences or related field with 6 years of relevant experience, OR
- PhD with 3 years of project management experience in diagnostics, medical devices, biotech, or pharma.
- 3 years experience in:
- Companion diagnostic development
- Clinical biomarker development
- Analytical & clinical validation
- Regulatory submissions
- Instrument development or program management
- Experience working in Agile / SAFe project environments.
