What are the responsibilities and job description for the PE, Roadway position at Andersen James Group?
Transportation Project Engineer (Roadway) | Houston Metro Area
Join a growing civil engineering firm serving public infrastructure clients across the Houston metro area, including Harris County, the City of Houston, MUDs, and TIRZs. Unlike many firms that lean heavily on TxDOT work, this team has built a stable, recurring municipal backlog that has stayed consistent even through market slowdowns.
Responsibilities:
- Roadway design
- Sidewalk and trail design
- Transportation planning studies
- Drainage coordination
Required Qualifications:
- PE license preferred, or very close to licensure
- Approximately 5 to 8 years of relevant experience
- Experience with roadway design, sidewalks, and municipal or public infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in Civil 3D preferred, but not required
- Municipal experience strongly preferred over purely TxDOT focused roadway experience
Why Join Us:
- Consistent, stable workload insulated from TxDOT driven market swings
- Fast career growth. A recently hired Traffic Project Engineer with about 9 years of experience was quickly promoted into a department leadership role
- Broad exposure across roadway, sidewalks, trails, planning, and drainage rather than staying siloed in one discipline
- Strong culture built on long standing municipal relationships and repeat client business
