Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in New York, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and active NY licensure.
Details
- Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department
- Patient ratio is 1:3 on all shifts
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Documents Epic for charting and Pyxis for medication management
- Communication standard is SBAR
Requirements
- Active NY RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum of 2 years of ED experience required
- Proficient in triage, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV insertion and maintenance, and IV vasopressors
- Experience with procedural sedation, CVA and head injury management, care of ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP management, and isolation precautions/PPE
- TNCC certification preferred
- 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Local candidates are not eligible; must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Orientation is 48 hours
- No scrub color restrictions
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed; all requests must be submitted upfront
