Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment requiring 2 years of case management experience and a CA RN license.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting in the Case Management department
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Epic EMR system used for charting
- ,Required to work every other weekend
- : Floating between like units required based on facility need
- No call requirements for this position
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- 2 years of acute hospital case management experience performing care coordination and discharge planning required
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred, though first-time travelers may be considered with clinical approval
- Experience with admission criteria, appeals and denials, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, and prior authorizations
- Knowledge of CMS, DRG, HIPAA, and Joint Commission/Core Measures/National Safety Goals regulatory guidelines
- Experience across Emergency Department, ICU, Medical-Surgical, Pediatrics, and SDU/PCU/IMC/Observation specialties preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable setting required

- Located in Eureka, California, within easy driving distance of 7 state and national parks
- Facility offers relocation and housing assistance resources for travelers
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Local candidates accepted
- Local radius rule of 50 miles applies for rate eligibility
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers may be considered pending clinical manager screening and approval
