Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Details
- Hospital setting at a Level II Trauma Center, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Primary Stroke and Chest Pain Center, and teaching hospital on the Journey to Magnet Status Designation
- Respiratory Therapy department serving adult critical care, pediatric critical care, neonatal critical care, and general inpatient respiratory patients
- Must be prepared to care for NICU patients as needed
- Busy, fast-paced department with RT coverage throughout the hospital and ED
- 6/12-hour variable shifts, 36 hours per week
- Rotating or straight nights with every other weekend rotation
- Holiday coverage expected for holidays falling within the contract period
- Epic EMR experience required; Omnicell also in use
- Ventilators in use include Draeger V500, Savina 300, 3100A Oscillator, Servo-I MRI, and Hamilton C1
- Additional equipment includes ResMed APAP/CPAP/Bi-level, Airvo2 High Flow devices, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 Blood Gas machines, IPV, and Praxair iNO
- Does not float to other facilities
Requirements
- Associate of Arts (AA) degree required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; CRT may be considered based on experience
- South Dakota RCP License required prior to consideration — allow approximately 30 days for processing (SDBMOE.gov); license required if applicable
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NRP certification required if assigned to NICU patients
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Critical care and general respiratory care experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
- 2 professional references dated within the past year required for consideration
- DOB and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers may be considered upon manager review with strong experience
- Charge RT and Respiratory Clinical Specialist available 24/7; additional support from supervisors, manager, and director
- On-call is generally not required except for planned events
- Up to 7 days of time off (RTO) may be approved; a full week off requires a contract extension
- Pewter scrubs required
