Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU/PICU experience for a 13-week rotating shift assignment at a smaller community hospital near Boston, MA.

- Respiratory Therapy department at a smaller, slower-paced community hospital near Boston, MA
- NICU and PICU patient population
- Rotating 12-hour shifts, with both day (7a–7:30p) and night (7p–7:30a) shifts, potentially rotating within the same week
- Rotating weekends and holidays required
- EMR experience strongly preferred
Requirements
- Current RRT credential required
- Active MA Respiratory Therapist license required if applicable
- Certifications required: BLS (AHA), NRP
- ACLS (AHA) preferred
- NICU and/or PICU experience required
- Ability to draw arterial blood gases (ABGs) required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Perform patient assessments, diagnostic testing, and prescribed respiratory treatments, and evaluate treatment effectiveness
- Facility handles triage cases that require rapid response before transfer to a main hospital in Boston
- Orientation is held on a biweekly schedule
- An interview with the nurse manager is required prior to offer; candidates should be prepared to provide interview availability
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
- Candidates who have worked at any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility (travel, permanent, or per diem) within the last 6 months are not eligible; a minimum 6-month break from the health system is required
- Pass/fail testing required: Telemetry/ECG and Medication exams
- COVID vaccine and booster required; flu vaccine required during flu season; medical exemptions are accepted
- MA license required if applicable
