Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a critical access hospital's outpatient-focused therapy department serving all ages and diagnoses.

Details

• Critical access hospital in a rural setting with 18 inpatient beds
• Therapy department is over 90% outpatient with the remaining 10% inpatient/swing bed patients
• Interdisciplinary therapy team consisting of PT, OT, and Speech Therapy
• Treats all ages and diagnoses including pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general adult populations
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
• 20-week assignment

Requirements

• Current Illinois PT license required if applicable
• Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy or accredited college/university with a certificate in Physical Therapy
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Experience in all aspects of physical therapy required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Basic computer knowledge required
• Knowledge of physical medicine, PT modalities, anatomy, and physiology
• Physical demands include vision, hearing, repetitive motion, and standing

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include evaluation, planning, directing, and administering PT treatments as prescribed by a physician
• Supervises and delegates responsibilities to supportive PT staff
• Performs patient assessments and formulates individualized plans of care and teaching plans, including family involvement as appropriate
• Ensures accurate and timely documentation and patient charges
• Coordinates and communicates with physicians, staff, and administrative team to ensure quality patient care
• Participates in infection control, equipment training, safety, and quality programs
• Maintains professionalism and respect for patient and family cultural, psychosocial, and spiritual needs
