Summary

This position assists with special procedures and offers support for routine and complex surgical cases. The Anesthesia Technician functions under the supervision of a licensed anesthesia provider designated by Altru Health System.

Essential Job Functions
- Collaborates with RN circulators, Surgical Technicians, Service Technicians, and BioMed department.
- Cleans, sterilizes, disinfects, orders/stocks and maintains routine anesthesia equipment and supplies. Prepares and maintains anesthesia monitoring devices and delivery systems.
- Participates in anesthesia meetings and in-services as needed.
- Provides anesthesia technician services to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia provider in accordance to ASATT Scope of Practice.
- Maintains anesthesia medications, supplies, and equipment according to needs and schedules.
- Assists with the transport of patients and laboratory specimens as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
