Grand Forks County is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Technician to join our team. This position performs a variety of accounting and clerical duties to support the County’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all fiscal processes. Key Responsibilities
Perform data entry and reconciliation of financial transactions.
Process invoices, receipts, and payments; prepare vouchers and maintain ledgers.
Assist with payroll preparation, benefits, and other related records.
Support month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
Prepare reports and maintain accurate files and documentation.
Provide excellent customer service to County departments, vendors, and the public.
Perform other duties as assigned by the department supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree with a minimum of 12 units of accounting coursework, with three (3) years of accounts payable experience involving the preparation and maintenance of financial and/or accounting records. Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in governmental accounting or public sector finance and familiarity with North Dakota Century Code and county financial systems.
Status and Hours: Full-time (based on a 40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, benefit eligible. There might be a variation to work hours and days to support the department and County needs. This position is not eligible for telework.
