Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process accurate and compliant customs entries for air, ocean, and ground imports
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other shipping documents for completeness and accuracy
- Classify products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and determine the correct duty rates and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with clients, customs brokers, carriers, and government agencies to ensure smooth and timely release of shipments
- Monitor shipment status and proactively address holds, exams, and customs inquiries
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CBP regulations, PGA requirements (FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.), and trade compliance updates
- Verify compliance with customs, OGA/PGA, and internal policies; ensure accurate recordkeeping per regulatory guidelines
- Resolve documentation issues and discrepancies with clients and assist in advising them on import compliance best practices
- Support internal audit processes and contribute to continuous improvements within the customs compliance department
Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
