About the Position
This Principal Business Development Manager role is focused on accelerating commercial growth across the Miami market through new business acquisition and strategic account expansion. The position works closely with internal pricing, operations, and leadership teams to develop competitive, solution-oriented freight offerings across air, ocean, and multimodal services.
The role is well suited to an experienced freight forwarding sales professional who operates consultatively, values long-term relationships, and enjoys the flexibility of a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive regional sales strategy to grow international freight revenue across the Miami market
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across air, ocean, and multimodal logistics
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with importers, exporters, and key decision-makers
- Collaborate with pricing and operations teams to design customized logistics solutions
- Manage sales pipeline activity, forecasting, and CRM reporting with accuracy
- Conduct client meetings, QBRs, and represent the business at local industry events
- Support onboarding of new customers and ensure a smooth transition to operations
Candidate Requirements
- 5 years of experience in freight forwarding sales or related commercial roles
- Strong knowledge of international air and ocean freight solutions
- Demonstrated success in new business development and account growth
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in a hybrid environment
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, Miami, FL
