Role Description
As a Customs Brokerage Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately entering and verifying import/export shipment data into customs and logistics systems such as ACE, ABI, or related platforms. You will prepare and review customs entry documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and arrival notices, while ensuring proper classification of goods using HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) codes in compliance with U.S. Customs regulations. You will coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and clients to obtain all necessary shipment information and documentation, monitor entry status, and follow up on any customs holds, exams, or release notifications. Additionally, you will support licensed customs brokers in filing entries, maintaining compliance records, and assist with organizing electronic records and billing documentation as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Customs Brokerage and Import/Export regulations
- Proficiency in handling Export and Import processes and associated documentation
- Knowledge of CBP regulations and HTS classification
- Familiarity with ACE/ABI systems is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Excellent Communication skills, including written and verbal, for interacting with clients and customs officials
- Attention to detail and the ability to ensure regulatory compliance across all operations
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred
