The Quality Control Manager develops and implements comprehensive Quality Control programs for Missouri demolition and construction projects. This position ensures all work meets contract specifications, industry standards, federal FEMA requirements, and client expectations through daily inspections, documentation management, and coordination of corrective actions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESQuality Control Program Management:
- Develop and implement projectspecific Quality Control Plans defining objectives, inspection procedures, and acceptance criteria
- Establish threephase inspection system (preparatory, initial, and followup inspections)
- Create quality control checklists, forms, and documentation templates
- Review and approve subcontractor quality control plans
- Conduct daily field inspections of demolition operations, material handling, and site conditions
- Verify compliance with contract specifications, building codes, OSHA regulations, and FEMA guidelines
- Perform material inspections and coordinate required testing activities
- Document findings with detailed reports including photographs and corrective action requirements
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities and thirdparty quality assurance representatives
- Identify and document quality deficiencies and nonconformances
- Issue corrective action requests with clear requirements and deadlines
- Suspend nonconforming work and direct removal/replacement of defective materials
- Verify completion of corrective actions through followup inspections
- Prepare Daily Quality Control Reports documenting inspections, test results, and quality issues
- Maintain organized QC files including inspection reports, certifications, and correspondence
- Review and process submittals including shop drawings and material data
- Compile final project documentation and quality closeout packages
- Conduct qualityfocused toolbox talks and provide technical guidance to field crews
- Collaborate with safety personnel to integrate quality and safety management
- Stop work immediately if unsafe conditions are observed
- Minimum 3 years quality assurance/control experience in demolition or construction industry implementing quality control measures and ensuring contract compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- OSHA 30Hour Construction Safety certification required
- Ability to pass drug screening and background check
- Experience on governmentfunded or FEMA projects strongly preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to provide documentation establishing identity and employment eligibility as required by Form I9 and without sponsorship.
- Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification from ASQ or equivalent
- Experience with USACE Quality Control System threephase inspections
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, or construction management software
- Comprehensive understanding of demolition/construction methods and quality control principles
- Expert knowledge of contract specifications, building codes, OSHA, EPA, and FEMA requirements
- Strong ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder interaction
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Leadership abilities and sound judgment including authority to stop work for quality/safety violations
