Title: HVAC Project Manager

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established mechanical contractor seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to join its growing team in Columbus, Ohio.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong background in commercial HVAC or mechanical construction to take ownership of projects from initial handover through completion. The successful candidate will manage commercial, industrial, healthcare, and other large-scale mechanical projects throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage HVAC projects from handover through completion
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, procurement, and cost control
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and project documentation
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams
- Manage RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, and material releases
- Monitor project progress, financial performance, and project schedules
- Lead project meetings, site visits, and coordination meetings
- Manage equipment and material procurement
- Identify and resolve project risks, delays, and scope changes
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Oversee project closeout, commissioning, and final handover
Requirements
- Previous Project Management experience within HVAC or mechanical construction
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, equipment, and installation methods
- Experience managing projects from preconstruction through completion
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
- Strong budgeting, scheduling, and cost-control experience
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
- Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is beneficial but not essential
- Knowledge of the Columbus and Central Ohio construction market is preferred
