Solution Architect

Akkodis is seeking a Solution Architect for a Contract with a client in Louisville, TN. The candidate will lead the modernization of virtual application and desktop platforms by assessing the current Citrix environment and designing future‑state solutions using Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, and Azure IaaS.

Rate Range: $41/hour to $43/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Solution Architect Job Responsibilities Include

• Lead the assessment of the current Citrix-based virtual application and desktop environment to identify gaps, risks, and modernization opportunities.
• Design and architect future‑state virtual workspace solutions leveraging Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Windows 365, and Azure IaaS components.
• Develop modernization roadmaps and transition strategies that balance platform stability with cloud‑first, SaaS‑aligned, and identity‑driven approaches.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including architecture, security, networking, and cloud infrastructure—to ensure adherence to enterprise standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams during the implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of legacy and modern workspace platforms.
• Define technical standards, create reference architectures, and document design patterns to support scalable, secure, and long‑term virtual workspace solutions.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8–10 years of experience in solution engineering or architecture within virtual applications, desktop platforms, and cloud environments.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, along with practical experience designing or supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365 solutions.
• Proven ability to architect and implement modern virtual workspace platforms using Azure IaaS components while leading modernization initiatives away from legacy remote access technologies.

Pay Details: $41.00 to $43.00 per hour
