Akkodis is seeking a Process Engineer General for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. The ideal candidate with hands-on experience in hypoid gear development, focused on driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity while delivering capable machining processes through data-driven analysis and corrective actions.
Rate Range: $38/hour to $42/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Process Engineer General Job Responsibilities Include
- Support manufacturing process engineering activities, applying engineering principles and data analytics to develop, validate, and continuously improve hypoid gear machining and heat‑treat processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and inventory reduction through root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Lead process audits and ergonomic evaluations to ensure compliance with drivetrain guidelines, process discipline, and workplace safety standards.
- Develop and maintain standardized process documentation, work instructions, and inspection setups to support quality methods and manufacturing consistency.
- Investigate internal and supplier quality concerns by creating action plans, performing 8D/5‑Why analyses, and verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Deliver capable machining processes and tooling solutions across grinding, lapping, milling, hobbing, shot peening, and CMM validation activities.
- High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of related manufacturing or process engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience in hypoid gear development, bevel gear machining processes, or related data analytics, with strong knowledge of grinding, lapping, milling, and hobbing operations.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma tools, including root‑cause analysis (8D, 5‑Why), process audits, and corrective action validation.
