Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens
In this position you will serve as a senior attorney and subject matter expert in Government contract matters. You will provide senior attorney support to the 75 ABW Staff Judge Advocate in the most complex, often presidential matters of acquisition law, fiscal law, business operations, and acquisition counsel-type administrative law matters. You will provide legal advice and assistance to AF Nuclear Weapons Center, AF Life Cycle Management Center, AF Sustainment Center and other tenant organizations in support of their missions to deliver weapon system development, worldwide logistics management and sustainment of all weapons systems and related material in their respective portfolios. You will exercise first level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Acquisition and Fiscal Law Division, Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, 75 ABW/JA. Additionally, you will oversee and provide senior level advice on acquisition ethics.

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.

Requirements

- Obtain & maintain a Security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- Employee may be required to work overtime.
- Employee must adhere to the Air Force Rules of Professional Conduct.
- Employee is required to file an Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and annually thereafter.
- The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty
- You must have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LLB or JD). In addition, at the time of application, you must provide proof, dated within four months of application of "active" status with a bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. Commonwealth, U.S. Territory, of the District of Columbia. Online information is allowed as long as it shows that you are in "active" status.
- You must have a knowledge of laws, regulations, precedents, and procedures related to Federal Government contract law, fiscal law, acquisition ethics, and partnering, with the ability to direct, coordinate, and review the concentrated efforts of teams of personnel form the legal, requisition, program management, engineering, logistics, and other career fields.

- You must be able to plan, organize, and direct the functions of the acquisitions workload, as well as mentor, motivate and appraise the employees within the Acquisition and Fiscal Law Division.
- You must possess skill in the presentation of and in opposition to evidence and arguments made in third party proceedings, with the skill in writing sound and persuasive opinions, memoranda, briefs, reports, plans, and pleadings.
