The United States Space Force (USSF) at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs is searching for Operations Support for 22 SOPS (NH-0301-03, GS-12/13 equivalent). General Description: A Day in the Life: Operational Support Specialist Support National Security: Become the backbone of a U.S. Space Force unit, keeping critical satellite control operations on track. Master the Schedule: Take charge of non-flight, maintenance, and launch schedules. You'll vet requests, coordinate with Users, and manage data entry. Be the Go-To Person: Serve as the main point of contact for the squadron, utilizing strong interpersonal skills to coordinate complex scheduling activities. Coordinate the Modification Control Board by gathering inputs, preparing meeting information, and disseminating it to mission partners. Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a mission-driven environment and enjoys keeping complex operations running smoothly behind the scenes. A background in space operations support is preferred, whether gained in the military, government, corporate, or private-sector world. Experience managing schedules, coordinating operational requests, and juggling multiple competing priorities simultaneously is essential. A high school diploma is required, though additional education or professional training in office administration, business support, or a related field is a plus. Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities: 1. A broad knowledge of the organization and functions of activities involved in providing logistical support. 2. Ability to identify all activities that will be involved in providing needed logistical support to the RTSs. 3. Working knowledge of DOD and AF acquisition management processes. Knowledge of the SCN maintenance and operations requirements. 4. Knowledge of the worldwide network of satellite communications facilities. Knowledge of Command and Control Segment in support of satellite operations. 5. Advanced knowledge of the SCN Scheduling System. 6. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to make presentations, reports, and provide technical information clearly using tact and diplomacy. 7. Ability to interpret and adapt AF policy and provide technical direction and guidance to RTS’s
Requirements: 1. Must be a U.S Citizen. 2. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret /SCI security clearance. 3. May be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise. 4. Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework". 5. May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis. 6. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments. 7. This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first. 8. PCS/incentive funding is not authorized. 9. Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year. 10. This position has been designated for drug testing. 11. Must have a valid driver’s license if required to drive a vehicle. 12. Serves as Technical advisor on maintenance activities and is “on-call” status to solve real-time conflicts as required.
