The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the installation Integrated Prevention Chief and first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Integrated Resilience Office at an Air Force/Space Force installation. The Integrated Prevention Chief leads the development, implementation and evaluation of all prevention and resilience efforts. Serves as the key subject matter expert ensuring all installation prevention partners, leadership, and the community understands risk and protective factors associated with self-directed harm and prohibited abusive or harmful acts from a public health perspective. This position is responsible for overseeing consistent and reliable information to inform strategies, policy, and program evaluation. Collaborates and integrates primary prevention efforts in areas such as sexual assault, domestic abuse (incl. intimate partner violence and child abuse and neglect), workplace violence (incl. harassment, bullying and hazing), suicide, and alcohol abuse/misuse prevention. The organizational location of this position is: Office of the Installation Commander - Installation Integrated Resilience Office (IRO). Requirements: - Obtain & maintain a security clearance - Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. - IPP personnel must obtain the DoD Credentialing Program for Prevention Personnel (D-CPPP) credential level aligned with their role/responsibilities as outlined in DAFI 90-5001 within 90 days of hire. This credential is a condition of employment and must be maintained throughout employment within the IPP Program. - A Master’s degree or higher in a behavioral, social science, or related discipline appropriate to this position is preferred. (*See OPM basic qualifications standards annotated under Classification Remarks.) - Knowledge and experience within primary prevention is highly desired. - This position requires a high degree of discretion in relation to sensitive information of which the incumbent is aware. - Incumbent must meet screening/suitability criteria listed in DAF and DOD guidance. - This position meets the executive exemption criteria for the Fair Labor Standards Act (5 CFR 551.205). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA): 1. Comprehensive and professional knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies as well as behavioral, social science and/or public health practices principles and theories relating to prevention and resilience. 2. Thorough knowledge of a wide range of delivery systems relating to prevention and resilience and the multiple uses of such systems. 3. In-depth knowledge of DAF culture, military family dynamics, related professional fields, and a thorough knowledge of the DAF community and the unique challenges that DAF families face; or equivalent knowledge. 4. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 5. Ability to analyze, plan, organize, and direct work operations to meet program requirements and objectives with available resources; mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization. 6. Ability to identify individual and community risk and protective factors in order to determine prevention and resilience activities to meet the needs of the base populace.
