Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens
In this position you will serve as an attorney and advisor within our Acquisitions and Fiscal Law Division. You will provide counsel to contracting and program management personnel regarding formation, negotiation, administration, and termination of contracts and other legal agreements. You will also provide counsel and guidance concerning matters of acquisition litigation, administrative law, ethics, standards of conduct, commercial law, foreign military sales, intellectual property, and more. You will also provide legal assistance to active-duty military, dependents, eligible civilian employees, and retirees.
Requirements
Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.

Requirements

- Obtain & maintain a Security clearance
- Certifications/Licensure
- Financial Management Statement
- The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty
- You must have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accreditated by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LLB or JD). In addition, at the time of application, you must provide proof , dated within four months of application, of "active" status with a bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. Commonwealth, U.S. Territory, of the District of Columbia. On-line information is allowed as long as it shows that you are in "active" status.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, precedents and procedures related to Federal Government acquisition, fiscal, foreign military sales, and ethics law.
- Ability to recognize and appropriately handle issues of precedent setting nature, sensitivity, or importance to agency goals, national and international security, or high public interest.
- Ability to make legally sound logical decisions and skill in applying the law to specific situations.
- You must possess skill in the presentation of and in opposition to evidence and arguments made in third-party proceedings, with the skill in writing sound and persuasive opinions, memoranda, briefs, reports, plans, and pleadings.
