Lead Estimator / Project Manager

AED Stratecon is seeking a highly experienced and self-driven Lead Estimator / Project Manager to support projects across the company. This role will lead estimating efforts, support preconstruction activities, and assist with project execution from concept through completion.

The ideal candidate is a confident professional who can work independently, take ownership of complex assignments, and help drive successful project delivery. This position will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Contracts, Supply Chain, and Business Development to develop estimates, support proposals, and assist with project planning and execution.

Travel to project sites and client locations will be required.

An active security clearance is not required; however, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

· Lead estimating efforts for construction, industrial, utility, government, and design-build projects.

· Perform quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and proposal development.

· Conduct site visits and field surveys to support project planning.

· Develop conceptual estimates, scope documents, and project execution plans.

· Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

· Support design-build projects through planning and design phases.

· Assist with project management, scheduling, procurement, and client coordination.

· Coordinate subcontractor pricing, bids, purchase orders, and requirements with Contracts and Supply Chain.

· Support project teams through execution and closeout.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent industry experience.

· 5 years of experience in estimating, preconstruction, project management, or construction operations.

· Experience with construction estimating, takeoffs, and proposal development.

· Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take ownership.

· Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, HCSS, Sage Estimating, Microsoft Project, or similar software is preferred.

· Willingness to travel as needed.

· Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
