JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires proficiency in medical office management systems, strong communication skills. The Medical Receptionist will support practice operations by coordinating patient scheduling, verifying insurance, and maintaining accurate medical records, ensuring a smooth patient experience and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Collect co-pays and any outstanding balances.
- Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with patient intake procedures and gather any needed information.
- Support office management activities and follow-up calls.
- Ensure compliance with health information management standards and confidentiality protocols
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role; private medical office or dental office experience required.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and health information management standards including HIPAA compliance.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks.
- Outstanding communication skills with professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Prior office or clerical experience within a healthcare setting is required.
